Alone in Switzerland there are 1.7 million Visa and 2.3 million MasterCard cards in circulation. More than 100,000 points of sales accept them.

The acceptance of JCB in Switzerland is primarily of use in hotels, restaurants and retail outlets in major cities and tourist locations.  

Since January 2010 the acceptance and processing of Diners Club Card and Discover Card is available. Diners Club Card is used by some 40,000 cardholders in Switzerland and some 8 million worldwide.
